West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, known for her busy schedule and constant travel, broke her near house arrest-like confinement of nearly fifty days as she visited Nabanna on Tuesday. Her return to the office prompted heightened security measures. Chief Minister Banerjee acknowledged her supporters with a wave from her car en route to Nabanna, marking her first visit to the state's administrative headquarters since September 11, when she had recently returned from Barcelona, Spain.
Following her return from Spain on September 23, Mamata Banerjee experienced leg pain and sought medical treatment at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata. Doctors advised her to take rest, resulting in her limited public appearances. During this period, the Chief Minister managed administrative duties from home and inaugurated Durga Puja festivities virtually. While she briefly attended the Red Road Durga Puja Carnival on October 27, her recent visit to the office signifies a return to her official responsibilities.
